The ocean has always been important to me, as has ocean conservation. This love stems from growing up on a barrier island, vacationing in coastal locations, and generational appreciation for the sea. While fishing with my grandfather, I learned about his work as a US Congressman and his passion for stopping Ocean dumping.
Yoga connects us to nature and our environment. Which must be protected. Part of the way I choose to help replenish our planet is through this dedication. A portion of my yoga proceeds go to reputable ocean conservation organizations, and I volunteer my time at Coral restoration facilities such as Iberostar Wave of Change in the Dominican Republic.
Ocean conservation information can be found on the Salt Y Sol Substack, you can learn about the issues we're currently facing and how you can best help out!

Maddie’s been practicing yoga, zazen meditation, and breathwork for ten years. After completing her first two 200 hour yoga teacher trainings (one through TLY), she studied Mindfulness at Lesley University and her classes are mindfully attuned to her love of nature. Born in Panama, raised in OC, and having lived in St Thomas, USVI instilled a deep love of the sea.
Maddie loves to take Buddha Boot Camp classes at True Light Yoga where she teaches, and can usually be found near the beach with a good book and a decaf cortado.
